Job Overview:

• Provide Strategic Sourcing Campaign Team & other co-workers with timely, high-quality data analysis, reports and other deliverables

• Provide support primarily for procurement campaigns to drive strategic sourcing & total cost of ownership savings in Films category and Amcor’s Procurement Excellence’s Programme (Procure Plus) Campaigns (process design and continuous improvement planning initiatives) across various Business Groups

• Detailed quantitative analysis and problem solving are required

• Collaborate and work closely with other parts of the organisation to implement Total Cost of Ownership opportunities within the category

  • In charge of creating, developing and coordinating global films data (spend, pricing, etc) and build market intelligence tools (excel, ppt, etc)
  • Global Tender management (normalization, assumptions building, etc) and scenario modelling (volume allocations, savings calculations, etc)
  • Support roll-out plan through development of communication kit and follow up status of preliminary trial plans

Principal Accountabilities:

Data Analysis, Modelling and Reporting

• Support Global Category Lead Films and team-members in all data requests. Use analytic techniques to support sourcing and procurement projects. Establish and maintain communication channels with leadership, key team members, and internal business units for data gathering/analysis and to support their business requirements

• Assist Category Management teams in the execution of opportunity/benefit assessment e.g. spend, cost/benefit analysis and reporting, etc.

• Extract data from ERP systems, analysis, modelling tool input and output analysis/ reporting. Understand the nature of businesses and make the business case using data analyses. Support review and assessment of efficiencies within businesses, identifying opportunities and providing improvement recommendations

• Support market analysis by generating Supplier Lists, participating in the creation of RFx (concept design), and identifying key evaluation data elements. Participate in the evaluation plan to understand the feasibility of RFx evaluation using qualitative techniques. Analyse and report RFx information in suitable format using Excel

• Provide negotiation support. Support evaluation of complex bid award scenario’s analysis. Perform scenarios to obtain input or buy-in from internal stakeholders and leadership. Saving calculation and analysis

Strategy Implementation

• Execute the strategic sourcing strategy including the buying of goods, spend analysis, industry analysis, strategy development, strategy implementation and supplier relationship management

• Support the category manager in the development of the overall procurement strategy and the translation of the procurement strategy into concrete action plans

• Follow the set standards with respect to Procurement and ensure consistency with Amcor’s requirements and standards

• 5-step sourcing approach: fact-base development, industry analysis, strategy development, Strategy execution, Supplier management

• Preparation of tender packages: RFP, RFQ, supplier evaluation models

Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain positive supplier relationships

• Build constructive relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs

• Collaborate with relevant functions to ensure understanding and compliance with key procurement strategies

Knowledge and Experience:

Must haves

• 2-3 years of work experience in comparable analytics position

• Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a must

• Excellent quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills required

  • Demonstrates ability to deliver results within scope of responsibilities

• Advanced excel & analytics skills, e.g., SQL, programming and building macros

• Analytics experience in a consulting or finance (e.g., FP&A) context


• Analytics experience with procurement savings analytics: Total cost of ownership analysis, scenario modelling, financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, supplier RFP analysis, supplier market & pricing analysis

• Relevant experience in a mature procurement function / manufacturing organisation

• Project management experience

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant quantitative/analysis heavy discipline (e.g., engineering, economics, finance)

• Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics/MBA is an advantage
