In the Analytical Chemistry business unit, located near Zurich, we want to strengthen our R&D team. In your role as technology expert / scientist in electrochemistry, you will have the opportunity to:

  • take ownership of the research on new technologies to bring our products to the next level of accuracy and precision

In this role, your responsibilities would include:

  • You strongly contribute to the design, functionality, and success of the future analytical instrument portfolio of Mettler-Toledo GmbH
  • You are the key knowledge holder in electrochemistry and clarify the questions regarding product requirements from different development departments, with customers, product and program management
  • You drive the research in new electrochemical technologies, and help to decide which are the best ones to improve our lines of products
  • You have excellent experimental skills and feel comfortable in the laboratory environment, testing your findings and proposals
  • You have also an excellent sense for quality and are capable of tracking down a problem until you solve it

What You Need to Succeed
Following requirements are necessary for this role:

  • You are a scientist with a Master degree in Chemistry, and have a strong knowledge of analytical chemistry, preferably electrochemistry. A PhD is strongly recommended, and previous knowledge of titration is a plus
  • You have strong conceptual and analytical skills, and you are independent, structured and self-organized
  • As such, you have a broad system thinking and are capable understanding the many aspects of product development, like requirements engineering, electronics, software and testing
  • Experience in control algorithms is beneficial as well as experience with the development of requirements in the product environment
  • Experience in software programming is beneficial, while affinity for Matlab is highly desirable
