Job Description

200+ number of Clinical Development projects currently in the Novartis pipeline. Many of these projects, which include new molecular entities as well as additional indications and different formulations for marketed products, are for medicines that could significantly advance treatment standards for patients worldwide.

We are looking for an Associate Scientist to join our physical-chemical-analytical group within Biologics Technical Development to support our Biologics pipeline.

Your responsibilities:

  • Analysis and characterization of Biopharmaceuticals in early phase clinical development
  • Development of chromatographic and electrophoretic analytical methods
  • Independent planning, performance and evaluation of analyses
  • Technical organization of an analytical lab and ability to work under time pressure
  • Provide documentation of raw data, evaluation and contribute to interpretation of results
  • Schedule and perform routine maintenance of lab instruments/equipment
  • Contribute to lab procedures, reports and/or instructions and/or Instrument procedure, Lab Procedures according to Documentation Quality Practice
  • Contribute to the evaluation of new lab equipment. Actively participate in project teams/meetings/networks

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor and / or Master Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent with specialization in analytical chemistry
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience in protein analytics and in instrumental analytics (e.g. chromatography, electrophoresis or spectroscopy)
  • Good organizational and team skills
