The Flow Cytometry Core is a resource platform offering state-of-the-art instrumentation and analysis techniques to the Nestlé Research community. Flow cytometry is an evolving field used by scientists to answer a multitude of questions in their discovery work. The primary goal of the core is to support researchers in concert with other omics platforms in obtaining verifiable results for such applications as Immunophenotyping, cell division and apoptosis, cell activation, intracellular pH shifts, phagocytosis, oxidative burst and much more.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform sample preparation, immunostaining and acquisition at the flow cytometry analyzer following the established SOPs and ensure QC of the procedures
  • Analyze offline data with the dedicated software packages
  • Handle all informatics aspects of sample registration and storage (e.g. validation of sample sheets, entering sample information into the LIM system)
  • Organize general laboratory equipment maintenance, order and monitor of laboratory supplies

  • Prepare data documentation and internal written reports, eventually participate and present in laboratory meetings

  • Ensure quality and safety policies and standards in the laboratory are followed

Required Profile

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in flow cytometry (sample preparation, immunostaining, acquisition, data analysis)
  • 3 to 5 years laboratory experience with ability to coordinate laboratory work between different lab members

  • Experience in cell culture, molecular biology and microscopy is a plus
  • Ability to set up techniques and methodology
  • Ability to carry on and execute small projects independently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English are mandatory
  • Swiss nationality or valid Swiss work and residence permit
