Job Description

The IT Flight Senior Business Analyst is a member of the Information Technology Team and it is responsible for the identification, documentation, management and communication of scope and requirements for multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, generate and capture requirements, track and resolve project issues, track project financials and create and manage user stories. 

  • Fluent written and spoken English. Italian, French and any other European language are an advantage;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS\/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience\/training;
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst;•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Can triage and resolve data \/ process issues;
  • Airline industry, specifically Reservation and Operational Systems;
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio);
  • Experience in issue and project tracking tool like Jira and ServiceNow ;
  • Experience in analysis techniques, such as requirements gathering and user story development;
  • Experience delivering in-house and externally-developed applications;
  • Understand basic Project Management principles and Quality Assurance testing;
  • Broad understanding of flight operations or flight reservation processes;
  • Strong organization and planning skills;
  • Strong analytical, estimating, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, demonstrate high level of emotional intelligence, be able delivery and lead under time pressure;
  • Experience gathering and documenting complex system requirements, writing technical specifications, developing detailed system diagrams, and authoring meeting minutes is a plus.
  • Engages with internal for requirements. Ability to capture, document and present requirements without any assistance. Engage with business users to understand needs, using domain knowledge to provide recommendations;
  • Translates business functional and non-functional requirements into the appropriate Business Requirements Document, Functional Requirements Document, Process Flow Diagrams, Features, and Business Scenarios, User Stories and User Guides;
  • Assists in implementing analyses that will identify requirements related to people, processes and technology;
  • Participates in the creation of the project artifacts (i.e. Requirements Traceability Matrix, Test Plan) with the Project Manager (PM);
  • Works with third parties\/vendors (e.g., Sabre, Amadeus, SITA, etc.) to design and deliver the approved solution;
  • Supports the technical design process by participating in the analysis of technical application requirements;
  • Ensures all the team members understand the big picture because their work has implications;
  • Knows the status of the IT Factories’ work and detects slippage;
  • Communicates technical issues\/decisions effectively to PM by using business terms;
  • Identifies detail functional requirements and user story acceptance criteria from the high-level Features provided by the Business Unit (BU);
  • Applies all phases of Project Delivery Methodology Design, Plan, Create and End (DPaCE) Agile activities;
  • Analyses business requirements, design implementable technical solutions that leverage process automation technologies and develop best practices;
  • Provides regular feedback to leadership teams and incorporates this information into future integration plans.
