Job Description

The Industry Data Management (IDM) holds a portfolio of Business Intelligence solutions for the travel industry, including Direct Data Solutions (DDS), Ticket Tax Box Service (TTBS), Airline Cost Management Group (ACMG) and Mileage data & publications. These are key services supporting revenue accounting, pricing, corporate planning, network planning, all essential airline commercial activities; main clients include airlines, airports, global distribution systems and IT providers.

Services within the IDM portfolio have expanded considerably in the last few years. Forecast shows a continued growth in the number of passenger traffic and development of multiple airline distribution channels, this will drive the need for robust data solutions with real-time data delivery. Reporting to the Head Industry Data Management, the Manager Airline Taxes and Reference Data will be responsible for the management of passenger ticketing taxes, fees and charges (TFC) and mileage reference data. The position will drive the automation, simplification and timely dissemination of TFC data and reference data; with a strong focus on data quality and adherence to industry standards and IATA resolutions.

Responsibilities

The Manager Airline Taxes and Reference Data responsibilities include:

  • Management of the Ticket Tax Box Service (TTBS) data base: industry reporting, data validation and dissemination to the industry. Responsibile for the TTBS data repository. Coordinates related tax data services with industry stakeholder(s);

    Overlook the efficient handling of Tax Fees and Charges from airlines and industry stakeholders including full audit of official documents related to filings for new and existing conditions. Lead industry initiatives for the handling of airline complex taxes;

    Responsible for the Enhanced TTBS solution: lead product development and relationship(s) with vendor(s) and partner(s);
    Management of Mileage data services: Mileage Manual (MPM), Ticketed Point Mileage Manual (TPM), City Code Directory (CCD) and related distance reference data, following IATA standards and schedules. Responsible for ;
    Propose NPDs for new or derivative solutions: Design data life cycle and quality standards, focus on automation of processes and efficient distribution to the industry (via APIs);

Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree in accounting, finance, economics or information technology;

  • 5-7 years airline business experience in a management position within the areas of airline tariffs, airline pricing/prorration, revenue accounting and/or corporate taxation. Knowledge of international taxation and ability to interpret complex taxation practices preferred;

  • Proven record of leading the development and launch of analytical/BI applications within your organization or externally to the market;

    Project management experience, able to lead a team of business analysts.

    Previous experience in the management of external IT vendor(s) and partner(s), able to establish development plans for existing and new IATA data repositories and services, capable to negotiate and execute to a successfull delivery.

  • Strong analytical and data management skills. Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerBI), with knowledge of database administration. SQL knowledge and macro programming;

  • Outstanding communications and networking skills, written and oral communication proficiency in English is a must.
  • Able to travel and work in a multicultural/ international environment;
