The EPFL Blue Brain Project (BBP), situated on the Campus Biotech in Geneva, Switzerland, applies advanced neuroinformatics, data analytics, high-performance computing and simulation-based approaches to the challenge of understanding the structure and function of the mammalian brain in health and disease. The BBP provides the community with regular releases of data, models and tools to accelerate neuroscience discovery and clinical translation through open science and global collaboration.
The Membrane Systems group in the Blue Brain Project is looking for data scientist to work with large volume of experimental data mainly from electrophysiology experiments. The main goal is to convert all experimental data from their proprietary data format to standardized data formats and to make them accessible through a public data sharing platform. The candidate should be proficient with data analysis programming languages (C/C++, Python, Matlab), familiar with Hierarchical Data Format (HDF), web applications and databases (RDBMS, NoSQL). The candidate should be an enthusiastic, agile team player who is excited to learn new concepts and deliver results on time. The position also requires effective communication with scientists and technical project managers.
