Increasingly, managing data correctly has resulted in greater competitive advantages and as the Data Analytics organization within GAMB (Global Aftermarket, Marketing & Brand), we support business decisions by converting a tremendous volume of data into concrete and valuable insights. The data infrastructure requirements are evolving to drive a culture of data-driven decisions making spanning various teams and objectives globally.

As Data Engineer, you will join a new and growing team of passionate people in a complex data environment, working on the future data infrastructure which will respond to these increasing needs in accurate, timely and quality data. You'll support the needs of user teams across Caterpillar GAMB (Global Aftermarket, Marketintg & Brand) while being an expert on data architecture, quality and operations to deliver and maintain a datamart that help us better understand our business and customers. You'll turn data into a craft and a discipline that returns increasing value at Caterpillar.

By joining the Data Analytics team, your contributions will drive the next generation of decision making and action taking in Global Aftermarket, Marketing and Brand at Caterpillar

As part of the Data & Analytics team in GAMB, your want to make a difference by:

  • Driving our Data strategy
  • Achieving Data integrity, security & accessibility targets
  • Transforming our data processes
  • Advising users & analyst


  • Cleansing data by work with several IT partners
  • Mapping business needs and translate them into technical needs to be implemented
  • Set up processes and standards for data documentation
  • Work on Data Governance with other business partners
  • Participate into global complex projects
  • Work on data visualization projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a data engineer and IT Engineer(Analyst)
  • Previous experience with data governance/data cleaning practices

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Data-Experienced :
    • Subject matter expert on data best practices
    • Data quality guru / attention to details
    • Developed from scratch databases from multiple initial sources with a BI end purpose
  • Data systems savvy :
    • Hadoop
    • AWS
    • SQL
    • Alteryx
    • ETL understanding
    • Others
  • Coding languages :
    • Robust SQL knowledge
    • Familiarity with Java, Python, C++, etc.
  • Good understanding of analytics and willingness to understand business value of data
  • Swiss working permit holder, C permit, B or G permit for European citizen.
