At Thomson Reuters Labs you will get a unique opportunity to work in a global company with a broad range of software products. In your role as a Software Engineering Intern you will be:

  • Participating in the development of application prototypes and proof-of-concepts with emphasis on big data, blockchain and cloud technologies.
  • Developing and testing services, designing and implementing user interfaces and deploying applications to the cloud
  • Extending and broadening your skills with the help and coaching from experienced professionals

At Thomson Reuters Labs – Zurich Region, we rapidly create prototypes and data-driven innovations for future Thomson Reuters products.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master student in a relevant technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, information technology or a related discipline.
  • Solid spoken and written English

Experience and interests

We think you have worked with one or several of these in the past:

  • Programming languages (GO, Python, JavaScript, Java, Scala, Kotlin, Solidity, etc.)
  • Full-Stack / Front-End technologies (Node.js, React.js, Redux, HTML5, CSS etc.)
  • Containerization and Cloud Hosting Environments (Docker, AWS, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Distributed Ledger technologies (Blockchain, Directed Graphs etc.)
  • Supporting technologies such as Git, CI/CD tools, etc.

Soft Skills

Given the range of projects and tasks you will be working on we also think you should be:

  • Curios to learn about new technologies
  • Willing to understand business requirements and end user needs
  • A motivated self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
