Your tasks

  • Together with the team, you will identify AI potential, conduct feasibility studies, and develop viable solutions for specialist departments and internal teams.
  • You independently develop AI applications (e.g., mail assistant or log management) using PyTorch and Python, and bring them into production.
  • Your responsibilities include the design and implementation of RAG systems, system prompts, guardrails, and the integration of MCP servers.
  • Working closely across teams with IT security, network, and platform teams, you ensure that AI services are provided securely, efficiently, and in a standardized manner.
  • You will work closely with the IT architecture, contribute modern approaches in the field of AI, and support the requirements engineering around GenAI.
  • Testing workflows and LLMs, evaluating new models, and contributing to best practices and governance topics round out your responsibilities – as an enabler and driver of AI in DIIN.

Your profile

  • You possess sound knowledge of Python and ideally experience with PyTorch as well as modern LLM frameworks.
  • You have practical experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases and prompt engineering; knowledge of MCP, agent frameworks or guardrails is a plus.
  • You are passionate about modern AI and platform topics and have a good understanding of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), GPU workloads or MLOps - or would like to specifically expand your knowledge in these areas.
  • A structured, solution-oriented approach to work, as well as enjoyment of collaborating with internal teams (security, network, platform, architecture, IAM) and external partners, complete your profile.
  • In addition to training in the IT field, you have initial professional experience in a comparable role (e.g. AI engineering, data science, platform engineering) and very good German skills, both written and spoken.
