Job Description

Founded in 2015, Avrios makes mobility work for businesses by providing tailored transportation services for every employee in one single platform. With over 500 clients, including market leaders in sports goods, FMCG, pharma, consulting and machine manufacturing, we are one of the fastest growing startups in Zürich.

We call Zürich our home but, with a team of 55, featuring over 18 nationalities, we are a group of talented people from around the world. Fostering a truly open and progressive culture, combined with state-of-the-art engineering and creative approaches to marketing and sales — working at Avrios is a powerful mix of purpose, challenge and most of all fun.

What you tell your family you do:

‘I am building an app that companies use to manage their employee mobility. No, I will not fix your computer.’

What you really do:

  • Work on an SPA with a fast growing customer base
  • Develop and build solutions to automate thousands of data entries for our customers
  • Build it in such a way that users actually like using the information we provide them with
  • Work in a data-driven team of 5-7 other engineers (back- and front-end)

How you do it:

  • You are an allrounder in a SCRUM-team, working closely together with the CTO and PMs. You have your specialisation but are adept to handle a variety of tasks
  • You get direct feedback from users but have plenty of room to experiment and discuss priorities with the team.
  • You work closely together with the team and there is always room for great ideas.
  • You make data-driven decisions, leave gut-feel to the marketeers
  • You use the right tool for the job. Decisions from the past are not sacred

A Day in the Life of a Front-end Engineer:

'This morning I knew I had to check Bugsnag first. A new big feature (whole bunch of smart fleet management reminders) has been released a day before. Some customers have probably already seen an introduction video or tried to use the thing. Surprisingly there weren’t many exceptions logged, and only one seemed to need an urgent fix. Done, pull request approved, cherrypicked, hotfix deployment scheduled. Customer success team is happy today too - users reacted to the first reminders, seemed to enjoy the new functionality and understood the UI really well. Music to frontend developer’s ears :) Some minutes left before sprint planning - don’t forget to add the ticket for that performance improvement our fuel cost visualisation needs. The next sprint looks promising - a proof of concept for WebSockets & RxJS done this week has shown we’re ready to start on some reactive challenges.'

What we ask for:

  • Experience in building and running large, complex and scalable web application
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and Angular(JS)
  • Testing experience is a big plus
  • You like working on the hard and tricky stuff and say ”Challenge accepted!” way too often.
  • You love working in a customer oriented environment. The customer success team knows how to find you, for a reason.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • You have a Swiss or EU passport (or other permit that allows you to work in Switzerland)

What we offer:

  • Competitive compensation (fixed and stock)
  • The freedom to have an impact on a fast-growing international startup
  • A generous education budget
  • An incredibly dedicated, intelligent and experienced team
  • A great culture that promotes open feedback and a flat hierarchy
  • Centrally located offices in the heart of beautiful Zurich
