Senior Data Engineer

The Data & Analytics team is responsible for all data warehousing, reporting and non-API-based data integrations around the core banking landscape.

The diverse tasks include:

  • Responsible for the data warehouse and the central, historical data storage in the environment of the core banking system.
  • Delivery of reporting, BI and analytics solutions for departments and management.
  • Support for all non-API-based data integrations (e.g., batch loads, file interfaces) around the core banking system.
  • Implementation and maintenance of specialized procedures and processing logics in the core banking system to support banking processes (e.g. mass data processing, demarcations, special runs).
  • Professional and technical responsibility for migrating data from legacy systems to the banking platform as part of bank onboarding projects, including data mapping, cleansing and validation in coordination with the module managers.

What you bring

  • Completed studies in computer science, software development or comparable qualifications
  • Excellent SQL skills, data warehouse experience and sound data modeling (Star/Snowflake, historical models, ETL/ELT).
  • Practical experience with BI/reporting tools, translating business requirements into semantic models, reports, key figures and dashboards in the financial/banking environment .
  • Experience with batch processing and file interfaces (job chains, error handling, monitoring) for non-API-based integrations.
  • Know-how regarding data structures and business logic of the core banking system, in order to implement procedures and special runs correctly from a technical standpoint.
  • Migration expertise: Data profiling, mapping, transformation, cleansing and validation for migrations from legacy systems.
  • Thorough testing and quality orientation (reconciliation, plausibility checks) are essential, as errors have direct financial and regulatory implications.
  • Good communication and coordination skills with departments, module managers and project teams.
  • Open-minded, team-oriented and communicative personality
  • Very good German skills (minimum C1), good English skills (B1)
