Job Description

Software engineer with a focus on data science and data engineering ( 80% - 100%)
The Data Warehouse Services management unit develops and operates bank-wide platforms and tools for innovative analytical methods. Users in many SNB units apply these to design data-driven business processes. These analytical methods include data science methods and procedures for the application of machine learning techniques. With this newly created position, we aim to strengthen our team in the further development of these platforms and tools, as well as in providing methodological and technical advice to users. The position is based in Zurich.
 
Your contribution:
  • Support and guidance for data science specialists in the design and implementation of their applications in demanding projects. Effective support with technical and methodological issues.
  • Responsibility for the secure and reliable operation of the data science environment. Professional and technical coordination of internal and external IT specialists;
  • Identify and assess needs for platform improvements. Lead complex IT projects for further development and optimization.
Your knowledge and experience:
  • University or technical college degree in computer science, ideally with a focus on data science, data engineering or machine learning;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of platform architectures for data science environments. Experience in setting up and reliably operating at least one such environment, with knowledge of relevant technologies and frameworks.
  • Several years of experience in implementing data-driven applications with high data volumes or machine learning;
  • Relevant experience in managing demanding projects, conceptual and systematic approach coupled with a strong focus on implementation;
  • Strong ability and willingness to quickly familiarize yourself with a broad and demanding range of tasks and to assume responsibility;
  • Fluent written and spoken German and/or French, English is an advantage.
