Senior Python Engineer (DevOps)

Mission Valory creates open-source software for co-owned AI, enabling joint operation and control of AI software for novel use cases in crypto, science, and enterprise. Responsibilities
You will be a key player in the Production team led by Valory's Lead Systems Engineer, supported by the Chief Technical Officer. You will help ensure their systems run seamlessly and securely. Leveraging your expertise in Python (3+ years) and DevOps (4+ years) with AWS or Google Cloud, you’ll tackle complex technical challenges, collaborate with your team to manage, optimize and debug optimize cloud-based infrastructure including microservices and Python-based applications deployed on Kubernetes. You will help keep Valory's infrastructure robust and scalable.

Main Duties

• Rapidly learn and contribute to infrastructure, agent services and frameworks, focusing on adding to, maintaining, and improving secure and efficient systems.
• Write comprehensive tests to ensure code meets predefined requirements.
• Identify issues in the code and debug them to improve the code’s functionality.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to deliver improvements to products.
• Document your work thoroughly, including experiments, and results, reporting proactively on your findings.
• Provide feedback, including code reviews, seek and learn from others’ feedback, and support fellow team members (particularly junior ones) to foster a collaborative work environment.
• Deliver to internal and external customers: you ensure you have implemented, coordinated, and communicated changes/fixes and checked that the customer is satisfied before considering a task done.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in line with Valory’s values. (https://shorturl.at/o9JGb)
• 4+ years experience in DevOps on a daily basis.
• 3+ years experience in Python on a daily basis.
• Experience of working with GCP or AWS and Kubernetes, Terraform, Helmchart and Docker.
• Experience of developing and debugging microservices.
• Proven teamwork and troubleshooting skills, and willingness to acquire new programming skills and concepts.
• Strong understanding of Python libraries (Django, Flask), best practices (best practices Python (e.g. linting, auto-formatting, static analysis, etc.) and testing (unit, integration, end to end).
• Interest in web3 and AI, particularly autonomous agents.
• Bonus: Experience of working with peer to peer networks.
• Bonus: Open-source and/or Web3 contributions.
• Strong preference for one person between UTC -1 to UTC +3 and one person between UTC +1 to UTC +5

Traveling
Meet with the team for one week, once or twice a year, if required.
Remarks
The position is open remotely for countries between UTC -1 to UTC +5.
