In this versatile position, you will assume a key role as a data professional with a business-oriented approach and a passion for modern data processes. You will be able to work across a wide range of areas, from data engineering topics to data analysis approaches and data governance tasks to data science opportunities. This will always be with the goal of increasing the transparency of our data, improving our data-driven decision-making capabilities, and generally acting as a hub for data matters. You will report to the COO and, in our company with flat hierarchies and almost 180 employees, will have the opportunity to collaborate seamlessly with specialists and managers, right up to the CEO.

Your tasks:

You can focus on the following topics:

  • Carrying out target-group-specific data analyses including data interpretation
  • Managing data projects across the entire lifecycle – from data exploration to implementation
  • Building a modern data warehouse
  • Renewal of our reporting landscape, particularly using Microsoft Power BI
  • Supporting business units in creating reports and applications using the Microsoft Power Platform
  • Development of data science approaches using neural networks and AI, which allow, among other things, prospective data modeling
  • Responsibility for a solid data framework with data owners and assigned competencies
  • Improving data literacy within our company
  • Support in migrating large amounts of data from existing to new IT systems
  • Close cooperation with our business units, management, IT colleagues, data protection experts and external partners

Your profile:

  • You have a university or university of applied sciences degree in computer science, business informatics, statistics or a comparable qualification
  • You have several years of experience in data analytics, data science and/or data management
  • You have in-depth knowledge of databases and data warehouse environments and are familiar with the Microsoft Power Platform (especially Power Apps, Power BI and Power Automate)
  • You are characterized by a hands-on mentality and an independent, structured, systematic and solution-oriented way of working
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You are looking for a varied range of tasks with the opportunity to work in both technical breadth and depth
  • You have the ability to communicate in a stylistically confident and appropriate manner in German and can ideally also express yourself in French and English
  • You have talent and enjoy communicating technical topics to non-technical colleagues
  • You would like to be involved in transformation processes and are interested in the beneficial application of new technologies

What you can expect:

  • An interesting, very varied and responsible job with creative freedom
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development
  • A very good working atmosphere in a collegial and dynamic team
  • Attractive employment conditions and social benefits
  • A modern workplace in the center of Basel with extensive home office or remote work options
  • Rating AND: Equality and work-life balance
