The Data Integration Team at the Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) develops software and data management solutions for the research projects of its user base of University of Zurich and ETH Zurich. As the biggest technology platform for integrative omics research in Switzerland, the FGCZ supports all areas of life science and medical research.
We are looking for a computer scientist with a solid foundation in software engineering and a strong passion for AI-driven innovations. Your responsibilities
- Develop & Innovate: Enhance the cutting-edge B-Fabric system, a platform built on Jakarta EE, PostgreSQL, PrimeFaces, and other modern open-source technologies.
- AI-Powered User Experience: Explore and implement AI techniques that will enhance the user experience within B-Fabric.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with bioinformatics experts and wet-lab scientists to create solutions that address complex data challenges and optimize large-scale workflows.
- Tech-Driven Impact: Work with data collections and processing tools used by over 7,500 researchers.
Your profile
- A degree in computer science (or related field) with solid experience in Java.
- Knowledge in SQL (PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with GUI development (JSF, PrimeFaces).
- A strong interest in AI and an eagerness to explore and exploit AI techniques.
- A passion for working with modern software stacks and open-source technologies.
- Fluency in English (German is a plus).
