As Team Lead Data Science & Engineering, you will lead the Nautilus crew, consisting of passionate and skilled Software Engineers & Data Scientists. Together, you will shape the search functionality in our online shop, significantly influencing the customer journey for over 4.5 million customers in Switzerland and the EU. We’re looking for a team player and leader with innovative ideas and strong arguments

your tasks

  • Support and challenge your team members, helping them grow and thrive in their careers.
  • Work closely with the team, Product Owner, and Software Architect to steer the ship towards success.
  • Roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with designing and building innovative solutions (Our team leaders are fuelled by two passions).
  • Come up with hypotheses, define metrics, and measure what works (and what doesn’t).
  • Use your technical expertise and leadership skills to create an inspiring, positive work atmosphere.
  • Own and improve our in-house search engine and product ranking for webshops across Switzerland and Europe.

your skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering or Data Science, plus an advanced degree in Computer Science (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Bonus points if you know your way around search and ranking systems or have a knack for data-driven work and statistics.
  • Love for building software in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Confidence to jump in and code alongside your team when needed.
  • Experience with some of our tech stack: Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Elasticsearch, Google Cloud/Azure Cloud, .NET Core with C#, SQL, MongoDB.
  • You’re fluent in both English and German.
  • You’re not afraid to try new things, even if everything isn’t fully planned out.
  • Strong empathy and the ability to connect with all kinds of personalities.
  • Naturally positive vibe with a knack for motivating others and staying calm in tough situations.
