You independently carry out statistical analyses using multivariate and other methods and prepare data using current technologies.
You extract data from various sources (register data, survey data, data from the city administration) and are responsible for the creation and maintenance of automated evaluation processes.
Together with colleagues, you supervise various specialist and topic areas, particularly in the areas of housing, construction, spatial planning and business.
You publish data in a wide variety of formats - such as D3, Shiny, online articles, OGD - and create customer-specific evaluations.
You work on cross-team projects.
Profile
Completed university degree (data science, mathematics, information technology, natural or social sciences) with a focus on statistics and enjoyment of working on complex and demanding tasks
Excellent practical knowledge of R as well as SAS or Python with in-depth knowledge of spatial data analysis and GIS. Git knowledge is a must, shell programming and other programming as well as Linux knowledge is an advantage
Good knowledge of multivariate statistics, sampling theory, data preparation, regression models, parametric modeling, sensitivity and time series analysis
Initiative, independent and dialogue-oriented team player with a quick grasp of things who can handle high levels of stress
Interest and willingness to familiarize yourself intensively with important urban issues in order to be able to provide professional support within and outside the city administration; knowledge of the diverse structures of the city of Zurich and public administration is an advantage
Very good oral and written communication and expression in German
