This is what the Data Protection Officer stands for as an independent supervisory authority. She oversees the data processing of the cantonal administration, the municipalities and the other authorities and public institutions in the canton of Zurich. She and her team advise public bodies, carry out checks, assess data protection-related projects (prior checks) and offer training and further education in the areas of data protection and information security and inform the population about data protection issues and topics related to the protection of privacy.
Public bodies are obliged to report data protection incidents. The data protection officer can order the implementation of measures. As an independent authority, the data protection officer is affiliated with the cantonal council.
For our information security team, we are looking for an independent and committed person as an IT auditor / cyber security consultant, immediately or by arrangement.
Your tasks
You carry out audits (data protection reviews), advise in the area of information security, accompany projects, review information security concepts from a wide variety of projects and organizations, write statements and reports, create publications (guidelines, information sheets, web articles, articles in activity reports), participate in projects and working groups, carry out training and further education activities (presentations, seminars) and function as an interface between law and IT.
Your profile
You have completed training in the field of computer science (BSc/MSc FH or equivalent), further training or certifications in the field of information security (e.g. CISA, CISM, CISSP, MAS IS, ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor), broad knowledge of information security and very good general ICT knowledge. If you have auditor experience in the ICT field, that is an advantage, as is practical experience with ISO/IEC 27001, BSI or NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
You have an affinity for data protection topics and an interest in digitalization and technology trends.
You have several years of professional experience, show initiative and are used to working independently and solution-oriented in an interdisciplinary environment. Thanks to your open and team-oriented personality, you communicate confidently and skillfully, both verbally and in writing.

She advises public bodies, assesses data protection-related projects and comments on decrees. She offers training and further education in the areas of data protection and information security. In the case of public bodies, she checks whether the data protection requirements are complied with in legal, organizational and security-related terms. Public bodies are obliged to report data protection incidents. The data protection officer can order the implementation of measures. The data protection officer advises private individuals about their data protection claims and mediates in cases of conflict between private individuals and public bodies. She informs the public about data protection and information security concerns.
