Your Role: A Data Governance Business Analyst plays a crucial role in managing and enhancing the quality, value, and security of an organization’s data. Here are some key responsibilities and qualifications typically associated with this role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Data Standards: Create and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity and quality. Conduct data quality audits and lead initiatives to improve data quality.
- Data Management and Governance: Manage and maintain enterprise data assets. Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to implement and enforce a data governance framework.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA. Monitor and resolve data governance-related issues.
- Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage, and data flow diagrams. Establish cleansing procedures across the Governance Network and draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to facilitate routine data governance activities. Conduct training sessions and workshops on data governance practices and principles.
- Support and Collaboration: Provide support for data governance initiatives, such as data cataloging, data profiling, and data quality assessment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data-related issues. Promote quality frameworks and governance concepts among team members.
Your Profile:
- Educational Background: A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
- Skills: Strong understanding of data governance principles and data management. Familiarity with data-related regulatory requirements. Proficiency in data governance tools and software. Ability to draft and implement SOPs. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
