Finance Internship Power BI Data Scientist

What are we looking for?
We are seeking a talented and motivated college student to join our finance team in Geneva as a Power BI Data Scientist for a 1-year contract. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing our finance functions by developing and implementing advanced data analytics and reporting solutions. The primary focus will be on leveraging Power BI to improve reporting, controls, and operational efficiency within the finance department.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support financial reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with finance teams to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
• Implement data models and ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial systems.
• Develop predictive models and perform advanced data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to streamline reporting workflows.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of Power BI solutions to ensure scalability and responsiveness.
• Provide training and support to finance team members on the use of Power BI and other data analytics tools.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analytics and visualization.

Qualifications and Profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong interest and foundational knowledge in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
• Basic proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
• Familiarity with ETL tools and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with finance teams and other stakeholders. Knowledge of financial reporting, controls, and regulatory requirements is a plus
